Australia's child dance school: first steps in teaching creative dance child development center

Through movement, your child will develop important social and physical skills that help prepare them for the life’s many challenges ahead. Movement exploration is a vital key to your child being healthier and happier…both now and in the years to come.

The proven Oztots program is designed to encourage your child to develop their coordination and self-confidence through movement and music. Yet it’s so much more than merely dance and music and many parents are often surprised
at the unexpected benefits the program gives their children.

This is because the program has been specifically designed for children three to five years of age, with key lessons focusing on the eight well recognised principals of a child’s early development.

These are:

developing creativity
expressing emotion
building social skills
encouraging independence
building their self-confidence
stimulating mental processes
enhancing their physical development
expanding their rhythmic and body awareness

Founder of "OZTOTS"

The Oztots and Ozdance programs were both developed by the highly experienced and gifted Marcia Lindoorn. Marcia’s experience as both a dancer and teacher spans four continents and over 4 decades. She’s been successfully running her dance schools for many years. The Dance Spot Performing Arts Centre, in Sydney’s busy Randwick, has been her most thriving one to date.

Despite experience teaching dance to people of all ages, her passion and primary focus has mainly been working with younger children. She believes in the true importance of the so-called “magical years”, where children naturally feel the desire and joy of movement and self-expression. It was this keen passion, skill and interest in working with this age group that inspired her to develop the Oztots program.

For the last 10 years, Oztots has grown and prospered and has become known as the place where younger children have fun, feel safe and happy as a home away from home. Following the on-going requests from parents who loved their children’s involvement in the OzTot’s program, Marcia created the Ozdance Pre-Primary programs. These programs provide the children with the ideal next step to help them in pursuing their love of movement and dance.
